Our Policies.

  1. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the beginning of class to ensure there is proper time to get ready and begin class on schedule.  The first 10 minutes of class are just as essential as the middle or end of class.

  2. Please park when dropping off and picking up your student to avoid a traffic jam and to keep the studio entrance clear.

  3. If you feel that you need to share any information about your dancer’s health please contact Absolute Dance Company owner Brandie Andrews.

  4. Attendance is extremely important in every class and is vital for student improvement and group choreography.  Personal progress and growth as a class will reflect this. Please use your best judgment before sending your child to class if he/she has been ill.  If students are injured, they are expected to come to class and observe.

  5. The studio reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if a teacher is absent for any reason.  In the event that a substitution cannot be arranged, class may be canceled or rescheduled.

  6. Classroom etiquette is expected at all times in the studio.  Listening to your instructor, applying corrections and following the proper dress code are all standards in dance training.  Courtesy and respect should be given to everyone at the studio, including teachers, classmates and parents.  A positive attitude is important in any learning environment and will be assessed on an individual basis.

  7. All students are encouraged not to leave the room once class has begun. Please allow for appropriate restroom use prior to class.  Very young children will be treated sensitively as the need arises. Preschool children may need a parent’s attention from time to time for bathroom issues.

  8. Parents, for your children's safety, please be in studio to receive students when they are dismissed from class. It is the parent’s responsibility only to ensure the safe drop off before class and pickup after class for their child.

  9. Absolute Dance Company is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please make sure that all shoes and bags are labeled with the dancer's name.

  10. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: Absolute Dance Company follows Avon Lake City School District closures for weather-related cancellations. If Avon Lake schools are closed due to weather, all classes at the studio will be canceled that day. There are no refunds or credits for absences or classes canceled due to weather. Tuition is not based on the number of classes held each month, but rather the full dance season divided into equal monthly payments for convenience. Dancers are welcome to make up a missed class by attending another class within their evaluated level, or by participating in studio-scheduled makeup days, which may be offered closer to recital and scheduled on weekends when possible.Families interested in makeup options should email SPohlman@AbsoluteDanceCo.com for availability and scheduling details.

  11. While observing classes from the observation rooms, and during observation weeks, we ask that you observe quietly and remain courteous of the classes in session.  Please do not interrupt a class in progress.

  12. Please refrain from negative comments regarding instructors, other students, or parents in ADC's space.  We take pride in creating a positive environment in which everyone feels welcome and safe.  If you have an issue, please contact the studio owner.

  13. Costume prices typically range from $70–$80 per costume for Showcase classes. Costume fees will be charged on your February tuition statement. All costume fees must be paid in full in order for costumes to be ordered. Tuition and costume payments must be up to date before costumes can be taken home. There are no refunds once a costume has been ordered. Dancers will receive their costumes in May. Costumes are ordered with room to grow based on the dancer’s measurements and the costume company’s size chart. Any alterations, if needed, are the responsibility of the parent. A studio seamstress will be available to families at an additional cost.

  14. Class Withdrawals: All withdrawals from classes must be in writing. If not notified in writing before the 1st of the month, tuition will not be refunded. Please note, September and July tuition payments made at time of registration are non-refundable. This applies to withdrawals and cancellations as well.
